At a glittering ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London, hosted by the British Fashion Council, Priya won the award for New Establishment Menswear, a prize that “recognises menswear designers who have created a new movement in British fashion and have a sustained impact on the industry globally," according to the organisers. In a backstage interview, Priya – whose eponymous brand Ahluwalia was launched in 2018 – said: “I feel so happy and really honoured, and it’s lovely to be accepted for my work.”

Meanwhile, 2024 Honorary Doctor of Arts Jonathan – who is the creative director of LOEWE and also runs his own brand, JW Anderson, was named Designer of the Year for the second year running.

And Remo, who was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Arts in 2023 and who helms Italian luxury fashion brand Moncler, told the audience “Creativity is the language of possibility," as he collected the Trailblazer Award.

Jules Dagonet, Director of the School of Fashion and Textiles at UCA , said: “Congratulations to all the of the winners but especially to our UCA graduates and associates. Priya was a rising star when she was a student here and we are absolutely thrilled to see her win this wonderful accolade. She has really proved how far you can go with a UCA fashion degree, and our current cohort of talented students can look to her as a true inspiration.”
