Rajib is a lecturer in accounting and finance with over 12 years of industry experience as an investment professional. While teaching, he strives to provide students a wider view of the modern business world by relating his professional experience from the industry with the academic theories.

Bio

Rajib joined the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Epsom in January 2023 as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance for the Creative Industries. In UCA, he teaches various accounting, finance, business economics and operation management units. Prior to joining UCA, Rajib taught at Bournemouth University Business School. His teaching has been recognised by ‘You’re Brilliant’ award (Bournemouth University teaching recognition award). He is very passionate about teaching and always cares about positive student experience. He is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Before moving to academia, Rajib spent over 12 years in the financial industry, working for credit rating companies, non-bank financial institutions, investment banks and brokerage houses. In his last Industry position, he led an equity brokerage company as the Managing Director. During his long tenure in the financial industry, he was trained extensively in financial reporting, stock market operations, technical analysis, initial public offerings, risk management, and merger and acquisition.

Rajib holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance and Banking, and a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Development Economics. Currently, he Is a PhD candidate in Finance. His doctoral research explores how country-level governance influences the impact of non-traditional banking activities in terms of performance, stability, and efficiency of banks.
