REZZED (April 4-6) is the indie game part of EGX (the UK's biggest gaming event in October) and the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) are there to showcase two games, which have come out of the UCA’s Games Incubator Studio: Squillamorph and Cat Tap™.
The Games Incubator Studio is an enterprise initiative based at UCA Farnham and set up to support emerging games developers. Andy Bossom, the Incubator's director and the course leader of BA (Hons) Games Arts said that "the studio enables UCA graduates to deliver their unique IP to market in a pre-revenue environment."
Squillamorph is a 2D pixel art platformer game for the PC. Gameplay consists of wave-based survival action, with the player fighting off a range of interesting and dynamic enemies. The game uses a mix of traditional and procedural animation to bring the game world to life. The game was originally created for a final major project at the University for the Creative Arts by a team of three students-James Barrow, Connor Wright, and Sarah Buettner. The game will be launching to the public for the first time this summer with early access on Steam. REZZED will be the first opportunity to see the game and try it out for yourselves.
Cat Tap™ is a free-to-play mobile game created by Megan Wheeler for all cat lovers. As you take control of a mischievous cat, you can unlock new breeds, level up and deck out your wardrobe in the coolest cat couture. Cat Tap™ is already available for download and can be found on iOS or Android.
