Led by UCA Surrey Galleries and generously funded by South Street Trust, Seen The Unseen: Textiles aims to raise awareness of invisible disabilities within the Farnham community through textile creative expression. The workshops are designed and delivered by Louise Anderson, a textile artist and educator known for her exceptional hand-woven textiles.

Led by UCA Surrey Galleries and generously funded by South Street Trust, Seen The Unseen: Textiles aims to raise awareness of invisible disabilities within the Farnham community through textile creative expression. The workshops are designed and delivered by Louise Anderson, a textile artist and educator known for her exceptional hand-woven textiles.
Community Engagement and Artistic Expression
Through textiles workshops, the project engages students and community members to create stenciled textile pieces that will be sewn into a large quilt, representing the collective creativity of the community. This quilt will be exhibited at multiple venues, celebrating artistic contributions, and raising awareness of invisible disabilities.
The project aims to:
- Educate about invisible disabilities
- Develop textile skills
- Foster creativity and empathy
Workshops:
Louise Anderson will conduct 10-12 two-hour Stencil Print and Hand Stitch Workshops:
Stencil Print Workshops
Participants will learn stencil printing on cloth and card. Open to all skill levels, with participant prints becoming part of the final quilt displayed in Farnham.
Hand Stitch Workshops
Participants will discover hand stitching on cloth and card. Open to all skill levels, with participant stitches included in the final quilt showcased at various locations.

- Creative Response, Arts for Wellbeing
- University for the Creative Arts (UCA)
