Flowers: Witness the Magic of Flowers

Sugar, honey, and cinnamon
Odours that stir memories
and laugh
under the torch of the childhood years…

Poem by Dr. Vicky Samara, part of the Ariadne poetic collection.

The sweetness in Vicky’s poem symbolises the sense of friendship and acts as a starting point for the multi-sensory flower experience, highlighting the diverse ways friendships bloom.

Flowers can be a wonderful, magical tool to open doors and create opportunities for connection and long-lasting friendships. Flowers and creative arts bring people together, enriching lives and fostering community bonds.

Join us in creativity

The UCA Surrey Galleries invites you to explore the magic of flowers, the power of friendship, and the blossoming of creativity within our community.

We invite you to draw flowers using the materials provided, drawing inspiration from the James Hockey’s Cyclamen painting and the delicate flower drawings by Mona Craven, PhD.

Let your imagination take flight and create your own floral masterpiece.

This exhibition is inspired by the Friendship and Flowers: Farnham in Bloom 2024 project, culminated in an illustration/sound interactive installation. This exciting project celebrates the 60th anniversary of RHS Britain in Bloom and explores the theme of friendship through the magic of flowers.

A collaborative effort between the UCA Surrey Galleries, Farnham Town Council, Farnham in Bloom, and Weydon School.
