Director of Technical Learning
Tim has studied and worked at UCA in a variety of roles throughout the past two decades. He is an exceptionally driven, qualified, and experienced strategic leader, manager, researcher, author, and governor working across academic, technical, and professional support domains to improve experiences and outcomes for all within creative arts HE. Technical authority and empathy are derived from practice [Photography], knowledge, and skills.
Bio
Tim studied BA (Hons) Photography at the Farnham campus, graduating in 1998 before joining the institution as a technician in 2000. He continued his learning at UCA, completing MA Photography (2010), PGC in Learning and Teaching (2012), NEBOSH (2013), MA Creative Arts Education (2016), SFHEA (2016), PFHEA (2020), before commencing his current PhD (Education) at the Business School for the Creative Industries (2019-2025) with a research interest in technician pedogies. Tim has held numerous roles at UCA in his career to date spanning both professional support and academic domains. In his current role (Head of Academic Development Planning) he works across all campuses of the University (and externally in relation to partnerships, collaborations, franchise, and joint ventures), leading and contributing to the plans required to support the continued development and implementation of the Academic Plan and overall ambition and success of the University.
