Lecturer in Strategic Business and Management
Dr Donghyeok Jeong imparts strategic business-oriented lectures, encompassing topics such as ‘Strategy and Decision Making”, and supervises postgraduate research projects.
Bio
Dr Donghyeok Jeong obtained his Master's degree in MSc International Tourism Management from Coventry University in 2018 and successfully completed the VIVA examination for his PhD at Coventry University in May 2023. His expertise encompasses a wide array of subjects, ranging from tourism and cultural studies to the creative industries.
Before joining the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Donghyeok was a research assistant at Coventry University's Korea Centre, where he significantly contributed to organising various cultural and academic events. These included the establishment of the 'Korea Corner,' a dedicated public space for introducing Korean culture, the Korea Day Festival, and hosting an international conference.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Donghyeok is a composer and lyricist who recently released his debut album in 2023.
Research statement
His primary research focus lies within the realm of ‘sustainable development,’ with particular emphasis on two key areas: (1) participation and collaboration and (2) empowerment within the Creative Industries. He extends a warm invitation to prospective PhD students who share an interest in global creative industries, sustainable development, and cultural management.
