UCA is committed to creating an environment that is physically, technologically, and attitudinally inclusive.
In 2024, we engaged the expertise of Diversity and Ability, a thought leader in accessibility, to undertake a physical accessibility audit of our campuses. We will work to implement their finding on what is working well and what could be better as a cross-functional team.
Last year we partnered with experts from our Disability Services Team to extend their capacity to support our neurodivergent students to provide best practice insights to staff and managers via our short course ‘Working with Neurodiversity’.
We have adopted the Sunflower scheme to create visibility for those staff and students with hidden disabilities.
We want to create a climate where you feel comfortable to share your disability status, safe in the knowledge that you will be able to agree the accommodations you need to succeed to your potential at UCA. In support of that we have a ringfenced reasonable adjustments budget and an Accommodations passport to support you and your manager to have the right conversation to enhance the accessibility of UCA to you.
We also have an Accessibility Network that we hope you will join and offer your perspective and lived experience to contribute to creating a more accessible culture at UCA.

Ethnic diversity
UCA aims to be a global authority on the creative arts. To do so, we aim to match the ethnic diversity of our student body in the composition of our staff. It is vital that our students and staff see themselves represented here.
