Film Production alum Kate Herron has directed major television series from Sex Education to Loki, but her most recent achievement was writing a new episode for Doctor Who.
She and co-writer Briony Redman penned the popular episode, Rogue, starring Jonathan Groff and the new Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa.
The main focus with Rogue was making sure he as a worthy match for the Doctor, in terms of lore we were mainly having fun and inventing, a new villain, a new love interest in Rogue.
It was very joyful getting to add to this already rich world.
Kate said she and Briony wrote the episode with Ncuti in mind, even though he had not been cast as the new Doctor at that time.
"It was thrilling to see Ncuti play someone new and his take on the Doctor. He's a fantastic actor and it was an honour to be a part of that new chapter for him."
And what's next for Kate? Well, she's directed episodes for Season 2 of The Last of Us, and she's been confirmed as director and co-writer of the forthcoming The Sims movie.
