Theresa Parker

Lecturer Fashion Atelier, UCA Rochester

Academic, School of Fashion

Theresa has enjoyed a full and varied career as a freelance designer/ cutter in both the Fashion and Film industries.

Previous career highlights in fashion include working for Georgio Armani and Ede and Ravenscroft on Savile Row. Costume and Wardrobe highlights include Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland and Brave Heart.

She has a specialist research interest in Zero Waste Fashion practices and worked with Brighton and the V&A museum as a Sustainable Design Consultant for the nationwide initiative “Design For Life”, investigating ways of embedding sustainable design strategies into education. Research interests are always practice based allowing for the identification and utilisation of new heritage or craft based skills, pattern cutting and making techniques that I have not used before. This can directly inform working methods and student research for curriculum on the Fashion Atelier course.
