Her favourite designers include Commes des Garcons, Hussein Chalyan and Eley Kishimoto, because they are fashion originals that go their own way.

As a journalist Terry's key areas of interest was to promote young fashion designers. Her key area of interest as a lecturer is the lives of fashion designers. The new project she is working on combines the two and she intends to interview 15 international designers about their childhoods and how they came to the place they are now in the fashion industry.

The book intends to research 'what makes a fashion designer a fashion designer'. Are there similarities or not to the childhoods of fashion's successful characters? What goes into the DNA of a designer? The book pays homage to Rilkes' 'Letters to a Young Poet' and hopes to inspire in the same way.

Terry has worked in industry for over 15 years as a fashion journalist and for the last five years lectured in fashion journalism and fashion history at UCA as well as Birkbeck and Conde Nast College.
