Sarah joined the UCA as a fashion theory lecturer in 2008 and since 2013 has held the position of Fashion Theory Coordinator, making senior lecturer from 2015. Before joining the UCA Rochester Sarah taught cultural studies at UCA Epsom, London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins.

Sarah graduated in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in Fashion from Surrey Institute of Art and Design (now UCA Epsom). Pursuing her ambition to lecture in Cultural Studies Sarah undertook an MA in Cultural and Critical Studies at Birkbeck, graduating in 2005.

Sarah currently coordinates and delivers contextual studies to undergraduate courses Fashion Atelier, Fashion Design and Fashion Textiles Print. Subjects covered in contextual studies for these programmes include fashion, art and design history and theory; theories of identity; modernism and postmodernism; and critical research preparing students for their final year enquiries, including thesis.
