Ewa Szczotka

Subject Leader/Senior Lecturer, UCA Epsom


Ewa has  worked in the fashion industry for over 10 years, working for companies such as Jigsaw and Oasis.  She created her own eco childrenswear fashion brand supplying stores in Europe.

Ewa has over 10 years teaching and managing experience in FE and HE. She previously was the Academic Director and PG Programme Leader at Istituto Marangoni for UG and PG fashion business and fashion design courses. She has supervised students through their masters’ courses and has taught research methods, contextual studies as well as fashion design, luxury brand management and trend forecasting.

Using her industry knowledge and academic expertise she has written several postgraduate courses in fashion business and revised other fashion courses as well as validating courses with collaborative partners to include placement modules. She continues to champion the synergy of education with industry and creates  many opportunities for students to apply their theoretical and practical knowledge to live projects and industry placements.

Equally she is a strong advocate for the sustainable agenda in fashion and fashion business and has implemented sustainability into all aspects of her teaching and research and has created overt sustainable learning outcomes in all her previous courses.
