Using complexity theory to better understand creativity can help us be better creative problem solvers and help us teach creative subjects more effectively. Perhaps more surprisingly, it can also help us better understand life. This seminar will briefly discuss the parallels between complexity theory and creativity while proposing that creativity is fundamental to all life and that this understanding can help us live a more creative life.

This talk is hosted by Dr Philip Lambert, Associate Dean, Institute of Creativity and Innovation, University for the Creative Arts (UK) at Xiamen University, Zhangzhou campus. Areas of research interest include creativity and innovation, the intersection of complexity science with creativity and innovation, teaching creativity and innovation, the relationship between creativity and entrepreneurship, and culture and creativity. Applies complexity theory, along with decades of experience working in creative fields, to develop real-world, actionable insights.
