Second year is a crucial period of study where students start to test their preferences within Graphic Design. They choose two platforms from our four options - currently Image, Language, Data, and Design Futures - to develop their graphic design knowledge and skills. They also all follow a Work Placement unit, to research and understand the industry, and their own future role within it. February is the point in the year when they bid farewell to taught sessions, and head out on work placements – so we’re saying good luck and celebrating their work so far. You’ll see a number of fine outcomes from each platform, and be able to meet applicants, current students, staff and design alumni. Please join us to raise a glass and celebrate the excellent progress made as part of their study at UCA – so far..
Ante Studio is an exciting opportunity for year 2 Graphic Design students to explore what it is like to work in the Creative Industry through Work Placement. The Studio provides a comparable experience where students work in a professional environment answering a mixture of different briefs, just like those who have secured an external work placement within the Industry.
