Introduction to
Filmmaking

During this course you will explore the creative and technical principles of film production for various platforms and social media outlets.

From storyboarding and scripting, to lighting and camerawork and post production, it will provide a comprehensive overview of the key skills needed to pursue a variety of moving image media career paths.

Week 1:

You will be introduced to the ideas, processes and skills needed to develop an idea from pre-production and experience a film shoot.  You will learn the essential principles of lighting, sound, and framing, as well as operate the film and sound equipment, to develop your confidence in film production 

At the end of week one you will have experience of a film production and gained an insight into industry practices and techniques.

Week 2:

You will be introduced to the ideas, processes and skills needed to take an idea through to post production, utilising industry software.

The culmination of the course will be a screening of your work and the awarding of certificates. Your work should be of a standard to add to your portfolio.

By the end of this course you will have experience of creative writing, self-negotiated direction, lighting, camera and a chance to develop your ideas through to post production.

£1,200

Please note that you will be in a workshop environment where health and safety regulations must be followed to ensure safe working practice.

All classes will be taught in English and delivered online. Expected teaching hours are 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (UK Time) with online leisure activities taking place in the afternoon including Escape Rooms, Virtual Museum and Campus Tours...
