Maxine Bosman studied Fashion Clothing craft at Medway College of Art & Design, obtaining a National Diploma, City & Guilds 466 & 486 (women’s light clothing). On graduating Maxine worked in the clothing industry as a sample room assistant before being promoted to sample room manageress.

In 1987 she joined the Kent Institute of Art & Design as a technician. During this period she studied part-time at Canterbury Christchurch, where she obtained a BA (Hons) in Professional Studies (PCET), after which she was promoted to technical tutor.

Maxine has worked on live fashion shows and projects. She is also instrumental in organising and managing UCA’s graduate shows, including Graduate Fashion Week.

Teacher exchanges with UCA's sister colleges in Fachochschule Albstadt Sigmaringen Germany, and Hame Polytechnic, Hameenlina, Finland.

Part of the teaching staff that helped Karen Millen set up a fashion school in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa for young people who have been affected by Aids.
