When you need to take a break on campus, head to our café or bar. Each is a social hub offering countless tasty choices of food and drink. And, with wireless internet connection available, you can use these spaces as an alternative work place as well as a meeting place.

Core semester times: 08.30-14.30, Monday to Friday

Out of term: 08.30-14.00, Monday to Friday

You’ll find our campus café near the main reception. Open to students, staff and visitors, it offers a 170-seat dining area as well as an outside terrace area with fantastic views. The café trades on good home-style food and caters for every budget. Look out for cut-price dinners, theme days and traditional roasts through to hot and spicy Goan options.

Café specialities include:

  • A full selection of Tchibo Italian coffee, speciality teas and associated branded goods
  • A popular SubStop fresh deli bar selling freshly prepared sandwiches, baguettes and sub rolls with a choice of over 30 fillings
  • An extensive freshly-prepared hot lunch menu 
  • A self-serve salad bar presenting a variety of imaginative salads, available throughout the year
  • A wide variety of snacks and homemade cakes.

 

We can cater for all dietary needs. And if you can’t find what you are looking for - just ask.

Open to students, staff and visitors, our two-floor bar offers a great social space, wide variety of drinks and competitive bar prices. As well as being open every day, you’ll find it open late on select nights for organised events.

 

The bar also offers great coffee, a great bar menu and a relaxing space for great conversation.

If you’re looking for entertainment, you can make the most of Freeview TV, pool and football tables and Wii.

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.

Our catering service shares the vision of the Fairtrade Foundation. You’ll find their products available in all our cafés and bars, including coffee, tea, fruit juices, one water, chocolate and cereal bars.

To help reduce our impact on the environment, we’re also working with the catering service to put initiatives in place that will:

  • Limit the amount of food waste we produce
  • Reduce packaging
  • Improve recycling.
