This session will get you thinking about what strategies you can use to help you succeed in the workplace - if you are going for a job or thinking of self-employment.  It will highlight groups and organisations offering support.

Shona Lomas, from Youth Employment UK, demonstrates a free online programme to help you develop professional skills and behaviour. Gain a better understanding of what employers look for in an ideal candidate, and learn how to clearly demonstrate your professional development.

How do you build a network of good contacts in the creative industries? Neville takes you through tried and tested ways of getting your name out to the people who matter.

Are you going to stand up to the scrutiny students and graduates are put under when invited to meet employers in person? Learn how to prepare, avoid messing up, deal with nerves and to get yourself ready to make a great impression.

User experience design is vital to optimise user satisfaction with a product. As a job experiencing substantial growth it is likely to appeal to a range of UCA students. Our industry lecturer gives the lowdown including tips to build a successful career in this area.

Fashion First 2016: UCA Epsom Fashion Careers Fair

Competitions

Competitions are a great way to get work seen and you don’t even have to win to benefit. Many non-winners get their break through having work seen by a wider audience.
